.::MEGA profit-making business::.
I was quite perplexed on how Malaysians behave on nitty gritty un-intellectual issue such as the highest short-term money making business nowadays – TV Reality Show such as Akademi Fantasia 3.
I guess the people behind this show really loves the ratings that they even ask TV viewers [i.e. gullible teenagers, and emotional-driven fan(atic)s] to cash in their money by sms-ing which songs the students shall sing in their next concert!
The 10 steps to mega profit-making business:
1. Making AF as their registered trademark thus making all other tiny bit of businessmen cringe as they couldn’t share the mega profit-making business
2. Channel 15 or famously known as ‘the carpet’ is dedicated to fans or foes to spill nearly about everything of each other’s heart throbs even though without the students’ knowledge. The real fact ASTRO laughing out loud each time they curse and chat with each other
3. ASTRO also sells the students’ phone logos and the songs they have sung.
4. Voting rates by sms, astro decoder and fixed line phone that is way beyond reasonable price (65 cents?)
5. Inject some hot new issues even how small it was that revolves around the students’ lives – i.e. when Felix held Akma’s hand to go upstairs, choice of songs to each students etc.
6. They even publishes their own AF magazine
7. Charge the fans to each concert (RM20? I don’t know)
8. Prolong this profit making business to an extended version of AF (pay for view).
9. Can also prolong and extend this business to your other business i.e. telecommunication, use us, then you will be rewarded to free concerts, a chance to meet your AF stars bla bla bla…
10. Selling all sorts of AF related merchandise, promo it first
hand via Diari Akademi and everything goes automatic.
11. Bring in ppl like Adlin Amman Ramli and Shafinas (for me, these people know what they say, but for the fan(atic)s, they are their enemies - if they commented "negatively", but immediately turned to heroes if they did otherwise. this will make the ratings sky-rocketing high tru curses, chats and the likes via Channel 15 and emails - easy promo, easy marketing, easy sell
What saddened me was the reaction between the fan(atic)s. You can visually see that the students are all in good terms, but their fan(atic)s were fighting their heads off over certain things like the choice of songs, how good their stars are, how exemplary they are, how sad, how 'getek' and the list goes on….
If one were to act by one’s emotion, the result is a successful MEGA profit-making business in a short term. The issues are further fuelled by the stars’ news and gossips at your friendly local newspapers. Therefore, AF is not about how good a person can sing, but how good can a person generate and stir one’s emotion. How good can one produces conflicts, drama, and manipulates AF students. Yes, a freedom to manipulate and use it to make huge profit, legally allowed by the students themselves (without them truly understand the terms or not).
I rest my case.
