A Good Samaritan Knows No Colours

life is indeed ironic..and pretty comical.

I just filled up my borrowed car a tank full of gas..just 10 mins to midnite. i was driving alone towards my forte, right after attending the Kedai Kopi session organised by Promuda last Thursday,February 4. Right after making a turn towards my humble housing area, which was another 5 km, suddenly i heard weird clicking (or rather tocking) noises under 2055 (the borrowed car's plate number). suddenly it went from a soft tock to a louder horrifying noises which i imagined there might be some monsters underneath it...scarry. and i just heard izreen's first hand version of Tekali's sightings...huehue...nearly shat my pants on this. The noises were complimented by a heavier steering wheel...Oh God! please let me reach home soon!!i realised later, that one of the 6 years old tyres might have a puncture..

I made a stop and went to the front wheel. indeed, it was worse than a puncture...it blown..pecah seribu! So, keeping my cool, i tried to reach for the mobile phone. GREAT! the battery went dead flat!! GREAT! what else besides being a woman; alone, had a blown up tyre in the middle of the road in Kepong, without having any communications what-so-ever? huh! Great! my body was aching due to my workout right after office hour, had less sleep nowadays, and already mentally tired due to political talks few hours ago! GREAT! suddenly Alanis Morrissette's Ironic came to mind and i sang it loudly..such sadist!

An old man turned ninety-eight
He won the lottery and died the next day
It's a black fly in your Chardonnay
It's a death row pardon two minutes too late
Isn't it ironic ... don't you think
It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought ... it figures
Mr. Play It Safe was afraid to fly
He packed his suitcase and kissed his kids good-bye
He waited his whole damn life to take that flight
And as the plane crashed down he thought 'Well isn't this nice...'
And isn't it ironic ... don't you think
Well life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
When you think everything's okay and everything's going right
And life has a funny way of helping you out when
You think everything's gone wrong and everything blows up In your face
It's a traffic jam when you're already late
It's a no-smoking sign on your cigarette break
It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife
It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife
And isn't it ironic... don't you think
A little too ironic... and yeah I really do think...
Life has a funny way of sneaking up on you
Life has a funny, funny way of helping you out
Helping you out

I turned my hazard light on, and were trying in vain like distressed woman,
to stop any willing sympathetic soul to help me change the tyre. (Ho! u must see how i acted that kesian face...) it took less than 20 mins, a Chinese uncle..who were riding his bike with mocha shorts and stripe t-shirt to make a u-turn and stop by my car.

"Apahal?"
"Tayar pancit la uncle..." <------my face looked so sad...
"wah! lu bawak laju ka?"
"takdelah uncle..slow je...tapi saye sudah dengar bunyi bising"
"ini tayar kena buang, tak boleh tampal pun..."
"ok.."
"lu bukak hood belakang, saya mau ambik tayar spare.."

this time, i was really really thankful that he came to the rescue. the area that i made a stop was hardly lit and i barely see the tools and everything..Kancil doesn't have any lighted hood, ok? such luxury! i CAN change the tyre but PROVIDED that it was broad daylight!! i used to okay..last time when my Blue Wira tyres got punctured, i changed it effortlessly...not trying to brag people...but this is the fact. i was imagining things like some baddies would in fact made a prowl behind me...he might rob / kidnap / rape and then kill me...huehue...

So that good samaritan helped me changed the tyre...unfortunately, and ironically, the spare was also "windless" uwaaa!!!!! it went flat. The uncle asked me to drive very slowly to the nearest gas station, which i think around 6 mins time to reach with that flatten tyre. so there i went, AND escorted by the uncle...he was so kind as he doesn't want my money!! owh! such soul!! 1 a.m.thank you to yuz and Inas for asking abt me soon after i broke the news...and yuz...thanks for explaining me on the tyres' borrowed time...hehehe...it's not my car anyway...biasalah kalau dah pinjam kan...

5 Feb. 2005 - 6 30 a.m. text messages "boss...i masuk lewat boss. tayar keta pinjam i yg tak penah tukar for 6 years meletup!. will be in the office ASAP"-
